About This Project

Stanford Marketing developed a land and on-water management plan for Goulburn-Murray Water’s Waranga Basin, near Rushworth. In the process of developing the plan we designed and implemented a community engagement process including:

  • design & development of on-site & on-line surveys
  • in-depth interviews
  • facilitation of two community workshops
  • identification of potential attendees
  • design writing of advertisements and invitations
  • RSVPs, running sheets, facilitator liaison, guest speakers, hall hire and set up, and catering

All documentation was collated and the consultation report provided to Goulburn-Murray Water. A feedback survey was conducted with participants who rated the workshops very good or excellent in all aspects. The consultation helped inform our subsequent development of the land and on-water management plan.

This involved:

  • a technical review
  • development of a community-led vision for the Basin
  • recommendations for community involvement, recreation access and safe use, land management, water quality, healthy ecosystem, and an implementation plan
  • designing and printing the draft and final reports
